The winner battled her way through the semi-finals to make it to the grand final with the support of her coach, Tom Jones.
Ruti, a student and part-time carer from South-end-on-Sea, lives with her mum, dad and little brother, Femi. She currently attends the Youth Creation Performing Arts School in Stanford-le-Hope.
The teenager, who was on Tom Jones’s team, sang her way to victory, beating Donel Mangena, Belle Voci and Lauren Bannon. After performing What A Wonderful World with Tom Jones, Belle Voci and Lauren received the lowest number of votes and got eliminated.
Hence, leaving Ruti and Donel Mangena to go head-to-head, with them both performing one more song.
Ultimately, Ruti won, with the winning prize of £100,000, a record deal with Republic Records and her rendition of Dreams by The Cranberries is set to be released as her debut single on Polydor Records.
