Former Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams has revealed her desire to reunite with her former band members, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland to make new music and go on tours again.
She revealed this in her newly published book Checking In: How Getting Real About Depression Saved My Life —and Can Save Yours.
This comes 15 years after one of the world’s most successful female group split. Writing in her book, she said: “Now, I would be lying if I said I wish we weren’t still together.” Michelle went on, “I don’t know if I want to do another 60-city tour. We ain’t 25 anymore, you feel me? But I am going to just put this out in the atmosphere: B, Kelly, if you’re reading, we could always cut a short album, maybe do a mini tour. Popeyes on me!”
Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland had been singing together since childhood and had already made a couple of hits. Michelle joined the group much later in 2000. She was also a big part of many successful hits in the 6 years before the group split.

Speaking on the group’s split; Michelle said it felt like something had been detonated in her life. She however admitted that it was understandable, saying: “I mean, the name of our last album was Destiny Fulfilled…
“Logically, I could see how Kelly and Beyoncé were ready to be done. They’d been in Destiny’s Child since they were 9-years-old – much, much longer than I had.”
She further added that though logical, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland’s readiness and decision to split still put her in disarray. She admits she was “in denial” and thought the group will still “do a couple more tours”.
The new book also addresses her battle with depression which came after the group split. She explained that even though she blamed nobody, since they did nothing wrong, she was just plain sad. This is common when one experiences sudden change they weren’t prepared for.
Fans of Destiny’s Child will certainly be hoping Michelle’s wish comes to be, and the group reunites for more music. Even then, we’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out.
