Joy Allison Taylor was born to her parents, Georgia Taylor and Anthony Taylor, on January 17, 1987, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She grew in a large family of seven kids. Her older brother, Jason, is a footballer who played defensive end and outside linebacker in the National Football League from 1997 to 2011. The Miami Dolphins picked him as a third-round 73rd pick in the 1997 NFL draft. He earned a place in the Pro Bowl team six times and qualified as a First-team All-Pro thrice.
