In September 2017, at a time when domestic violence was being discussed nationwide, Joy Taylor revealed that she had been a victim as well. She didn’t reveal who her abuser was but described her ordeal in detail.

Speaking during an episode of Undisputed, she explained, “I have survived domestic violence. Horrible things. I’ve had someone 6ft2′ try to choke me and suffocate me at the same time throw me downstairs, kick me in my chest after dragging me out of the car. I could go on and on.”

If she wasn’t protecting the man she had been involved with at the time, our guess will be that this happened before her stardom.
