Who knew there would be a day when a film surpassing $100 million in the box office will be something newsworthy. Well, we are fishing in different waters now. The post-lockdown world and A Quiet Place is setting the pace.
Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic that took the world by storm in late 2019 and forced almost every business to shrink, the box office has not been what it used to be. Since the reopening of the cinemas, no film has managed to cross the $100 million mark. At least, not till “A Quiet Place Part II” did this week.
It is safe to say the cinema revival is well and truly underway, and we are here for it! With an array of previously delayed releases now coming to the big screens and film lovers hungry for some action, one can only expect that a big payday is imminent for filmmakers.

It could be argued that A Quiet Place 2’s box office success is largely due to its exclusive cinema release. Unlike many other films recently released, the horror flick is not available anywhere but the cinemas till July.
One can only imagine the numbers films like “Army of The Dead” would’ve done if they were exclusive to cinemas.
With fans and critics having received this sequel with keen interest and praise, it is no surprise that a 3rd part is now in the works. The film, which will be set in the same “universe,” is reportedly going to follow a different protagonist.
The cinemas are buzzing again, and we can’t wait for the amazing films coming our way. Are you excited or yes? You may also like to read our recent article, Weekend watchlist: Lupin Season 2, Loki, The Misfits, Peter Rabbit 2, and more.
