Toke Makinwa clears air on how she makes her money: ‘It definitely ain’t free’

Nigerian popular on-air-personality OAP and author of On Becoming, Toke Makinwa, is done with rumours surrounding her sources of income.

The media personality made has taken to social media to clear the air about how she makes her money and also set the records straight on her brand and business.

In a tell-all social media post, the media personality took the time to set the record straight on her she makes her money. And according to her, one of her sources of income is on making appearances on events.

Her words:

“90% of the time you see my pretty face out at an event, I got paid to be there. I have worked so hard over the years to build a bankable brand. It’s not been easy and it definitely ain’t free.”

She didn’t tell us how she gets paid to attend those events but no doubt a call to her publicist will clear that.

In a follow-up post, the socialite who also a successful runs her designer bag business says:

“I’m not in business to convince anyone or prove anything to anyone, it’s not my job to bring you over to the light. I focus on building, reinventing, sustaining and fine-tuning myself.”

Makinwa’s post is coming on the heels of several accusations that she lives beyond her means as an on-air personality. Rumours have been rife on social media that she sleeps with rich men for money although there has been no evidence to back up the allegation.

Makinwa was formerly married to a fitness coach, Maje Ayida but the marriage ended on allegations of infidelity.
