Former Premier players Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Eriksen all scored and set up goals as Inter Milan thrashed Brescia 6-0 to remain third in Serie A.
Young volleyed home from an Alexis Sanchez cross to put Inter ahead and the Chilean scored from the penalty spot after Victor Moses was fouled.
Young then provided an assist to Danilo D’Ambrosio who headed home from the resulting cross and Sanchez’s free-kick was nodded in by Roberto Gagliardini.
Eriksen scrambled home after Romelu Lukaku’s shot was saved and then set up Antonio Candreva for Inter’s sixth.
Sanchez’s loan deal from Manchester United was extended until the end of the season, the clubs announced earlier in the day.
Antonio Conte’s Inter remain third, eight points behind leaders Juventus, with Brescia dropping to bottom spot.

SPAL 2 – 2 AC Milan
AC Milan could not dispatch 10-man SPAL as they played out a 2-2 draw despite defeating Roma 2-0 over the weekend. The Rossoneri flattered to deceive allowing SPAL to take an early 2-0 lead but eventually managed to find an equaliser losing two important points in the process.
Bologna 1 – 1 Cagliari
Home side, Bologna, could not score the insurance goal nor defend their lead as they fell to a 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari. Musa Barrow scored for the hosts in the first half’s additional time while Giovanni Simeone equalised just after the restart.
Mattia Valoti opened the scoring for SPAL in the 13th minute before Sergio Floccari doubled their advantage 15 minutes to half time.
AC Milan’s young striker, Rafael Leao, pulled one back for AC Milan in the 79th minute and an own goal ensured they both share the spoils.
Fiorentina 1 – 3 Sassuolo
Fiorentina lost at home to high flying Sassuolo side in a disappointing fashion. Sassuolo didn’t waste their chances as they went 2 goals up in the first half and added a third 16 minutes into the second half. Fiorentina however got a consolation goal from former AC Milan striker, Patrick Cutrone, in the 90th minute of the game.
Lecce 1 – 2 Sampdoria
Lecce lost at home to Sampdoria in a game that witnessed 3 penalties, two given to the away side and one to the home side.
Gaston Ramirez converted both of Sampdori’s penalty kicks to ensure they got a 1 – 2 victory on the road.
Hellas Verona 3 – 2 Parma
Hellas Verona were clinical as they saw off their opponents, Parma, at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi. Hellas Verona played out an entertaining 3-3 draw on the road at Sassuolo on Sunday but they were left to rue their inability to hold onto the lead as they conceded deep into stoppage time which cost them all three points.
They didn’t make the same mistake this time as they saw off Parma 3 – 2.
Inter was merciless. Geez. Poor Bresia.
Inter looks a much more improved side with their PL acquisitions (Young, Lukaku, Eriksen).
