Arsenal Football Club under the new manager Mikel Arteta is a new and ongoing project that would see the Spaniard move for new players that suit his philosophy and might seek a move for current players elsewhere as well.
Arsenal have already completed the signing of former Chelsea winger Willian Borges on a free transfer that would see the Brazillian ply his trade for the gunners for another three years.
The gunners have also parted ways with their head of football operations Raul Sanllehi and it’s thought that Mikel Arteta might have more control over the players he wants to bring over to the Emirates over the summer.
Arsenal have also been linked to a couple of players, and we are hearing rumours of a potential Aubameyang extension being announced this week.
The Arsenal captain’s contract expires soon and he’s yet to put pen to paper on a new deal but is close to ending speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Arsenal.
Speculation over Aubameyang’s future has continued on throughout the season after he entered the final two years of his contract – something that appeared to contradict a club policy of either selling or renewing players with two years to go.
He, however, scored 22 goals in the Premier League in another excellent personal season for the ex-Borussia Dortmund attacker.
Aubameyang also scored twice against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final before going on to do the same in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup final to restore questions about his future to the fore.
Since joining from German outfit Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, he has scored 54 goals in 85 Premier League games.
Juventus interested in Alexander Lacazette
Speaking before the FA Cup final, Alexandre Lacazette declared that his future at Arsenal is not hinged on Aubameyang staying and, with two years left on his deal, says “no, we didn’t talk about (a new deal)“.
Serie A champions Juventus are interested in signing the Arsenal striker, according to reports in Italy with current Juve striker Gonzalo Higuain expected to leave the Turin club this summer, with just a year remaining on his contract.
Andrea Pirlo, who recently got the nod to continue in Maurizio Sarri’s stead as head coach of Juventus is looking for a new centre-forward to form a strike-partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.
Arsenal have limited funds and are eyeing huge prospects all over Europe and would probably look to cash in on a few players in order to raise extra funds to push those deals through. However, whether Lacazette is among such players is yet to be seen.
