She signed the deal with Disney to do a voiceover in exchange for the media company making a donation to a charity of her choosing.
According to The Times UK, which broke the news, she chose a donation to the charity organization, Elephants without Borders which works to conserve wildlife.
This deal could hint at the couple’s steps going forward following their announcement on 8 January that they are stepping back as senior members of the royal family.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen,” they wrote in part on their official Instagram page.
It could also hint at what the couple meant when they said they would carve out “progressive new roles within the royal family” that would help them use their status to help their charities, including their own which they are set to launch later this year.
While this has been met with applause from the couple’s well-wishers, critics have also called it a blemish on the royal family.
This is not the first time that the couple will work with Disney. They famously attended the premiere for the live-action film premiere of The Lion King, whose premiere was held in support of African Parks, a charity organization that Prince Harry supports.
The couple was also honoured with an animation featuring Winnie the Pooh following the birth of their son, Archie.
