In celebration of Archie Harrison‘s first birthday, his parents, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a new photo of their son on his big day on Wednesday, 6 April 2020.
The last time fans caught a glimpse of Archie was on New Year’s Eve when his parents shared a sweet photo of Archie in Harry’s arms while standing in front of a scenic view.
As they celebrate as a family, the couple wanted to use the day to highlight the continuing need to get food and learning resources, such as books, to children around the world.
They are supporting the @SaveWithStories campaign in the U.S. — and @SaveChildrenUK in the U.K. — which helps kids who have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the U.S., #SAVEWITHSTORIES was created by Jen Garner and Amy Adams in March.
Meghan reads one of Archie’s favourite books, Duck! Rabbit!, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld, in a video taken by proud dad, Prince Harry from their new home in Los Angeles.
Archie turns to the first page of the book as he sits on his mom’s lap in the video. “Let’s go to the next page, look Arch!” Meghan says as Archie grins, showing off his bottom teeth. At one point, he picks up another book from the floor and playfully throws it back down, causing Harry to let out a few laughs.
