When Nicki Minaj tweeted earlier this September that she was retiring to have her family, we pointed out that the tweet wasn’t very specific on what she was retiring from, although many people assumed she meant music.
Maybe not unless features don’t count.
The Megatron star last night shared that she’s been featured in PnB Rock and Murda Beatz new song, Fendi.
The single is now out and Nicki can be heard saying at the beginning of the single: “I swear, this is really my favourite song.”
So, maybe features don’t count, although it’s conceivable that Nicki’s appearance on the song had been signed prior to her decision to retire – assuming she’s retiring from the music scene.
Moreover, Nicki Minaj has some sort of collaboration with the designer house, Fendi. Her Minaj’s Fendi Prints On Collection is launching on 14th October 2019 and Nicki has been actively promoting the prints on her Instagram page. The release of this single is probably also a PR and marketing stunt for the collaboration.
So, if Nicki’s retirement is actually about music, then maybe features and collaborations do not count.
