Media personality Toke Makinwa has expressed her views on domestic violence as she reacts to Maryam Sanda’s death sentence, saying, “nobody is worth a death sentence.“
Just a few days ago, a video of the popular OAP went viral as she talked about her relationship with ex-husband. Maje Aiye, saying that the relationship with him was one that should never have happened. Now, the media personality is out airing her views again and this time, it is on Maryam Sanda’s case.
Recall that the Federal High Court in Abuja passed its judgment on Maryam Sanda after convicting her of killing her husband. Maryam had pleaded not guilty, telling the court that her husband died while fighting with her. The court dismissed her claim as “smokescreen to deceive the court”, stating that the evidence provided against her proved that she stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife with an intent to kill.
The court, however, went ahead to sentence the suspect to death by hanging. Toke Makinwa took to her Twitter handle to tweet about the case, stating that nobody is worth throwing away your life for.
Read her tweet below:
I know some conversations are tough but they must be had, nobody is worth throwing the rest of your life in jail or even worse, a death sentence, anger is evil, choose your mental health and walk away always. It’s hard, it’s tough but one minute of anger can take away everything
