Nigeria has recorded an additional 490 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on the 16th of June.
According to the centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 17,148. The centre also stated that 5,623 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from isolations centres across the country. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
Meanwhile, 455 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigerians as of the night of Tuesday 16th June 2020 was 11,070.

The NCDC also noted that about 25 persons have been lost to the virus in Lagos state between June 12th and 15th.

Apart from these high numbers, I also wonder if everyone needing a test gets one. Or ar the people getting tests at the point of death? That will mean so many positive cases are out there.
