The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced an additional 35 new cases of Coronavirus infections in Nigeria bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 442.
The new infections were confirmed in Abuja (9), Kano (5), Lagos (19) and Oyo (2).
The NCDC made the announcement via its Twitter handle on Thursday night.
“Thirty-five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 19 in Lagos, 9 in FCT, 5 in Kano, 2 in Oyo,” the NCDC tweets. “As at 10:20 pm 16th April, there are 442 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths. #TakeResponsibility,” the tweet adds.
Also according to the data provided, 152 people have recovered from the Covid-19 diseases while 13 lives have been lost to the diseases.

The NCD also provided data for the distribution of the virus in Nigeria. 20 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja have been affected.
Lagos remains the epicentre of the disease in Nigeria with 251 confirmed cases. Abuja comes second with 67 cases, while Kano has overtaken Osun State and is now the state with the third most Coronavirus confirmed with 21 counts of the disease.
