Glee actress, Naya Rivera feared dead after her 4-year-old son is found alone on a boat

Naya Rivera, the American actress who was one of the stars of the popular show, Glee, has been declared missing.

Her four-year-old son was found on a boat alone on Lake Piru, California on Wednesday, 8 July which is causing people to fear that the actress may be dead.

She had rented a boat and taken her son out to the lake. According to the little boy, they had both gone swimming but Rivera did not come back up.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said that they went out to look for her earlier that afternoon when she did not return after the three hours she paid for the boat expired.

Authorities said that they found her son alone on the boat wearing a life jacket. An extra life jacket was found on the boat with Rivera nowhere to be found.

Authorities have now presumed her dead by drowning and are searching for her body, said Captain Eric Buschow, a spokesman for the Venture County Sheriff’s Office.

“He’s in good health. The boy was initially reported by authorities to be a 3-year-old girl. The family is going through a very traumatic time right now.” Buschow said.

The day before the two went missing, on Tuesday, Rivera had shared a picture of herself and her son, writing, “just the two of us”.
