Reports have confirmed that the Basketball star, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna and seven others died in the crash.
Contrary to earlier speculations, none of his other children nor his daughter was on the helicopter that crashed and killed its occupants.
Reports say they’d been on their way to Mamba Academy in Thousand Oaks, California when the crash occurred.
Former US President Barack Obama; current US President Donald Trump; Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu; musicians, Drake, Cardi B, Taylor Swift; sportspeople, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar; celebrities, Ellen DeGeneres, Trevor Noah and many others around the world have sent in their tributes to Bryant’s family and the people involved in the crash.
See them below:
Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act. To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day.

Most people will remember Kobe as the magnificent athlete who inspired a whole generation of basketball players. But I will always remember him as a man who was much more than an athlete. pic.twitter.com/9EZuwk8wrV
