It is based on a bestselling novel of the same name by Katie Khan. Katie Khan took to her Twitter page to express her excitement over the development, writing:

The movie is about a couple who reminisce on their love and life together on Earth with only 90 minutes of oxygen left. The movie is to be directed by Mike Cahill.
