We at Sidomex have decided to create a segment called Wonder Woman Wednesday where every Wednesday each week, we celebrate an extraordinary woman who is making women proud.
For this week, we have chosen dance queen Kafayat Shafau popularly known as Kaffy.
Kaffy is a dancer, choreographer, dance instructor and fitness coach. She came into the limelight when she broke the Guinness World Record for longest dance at the Nokia Silverbird danceathon in 2006.
Kaffy was born and raised in Nigeria. She attended Yaba College of Technology for a while before graduating with a diploma in data processing from Olabisi Onabanjo University. She grew up wanting to become an aeronautical engineer.
Kaffy used to go to the National Stadium, Surulere for dance training and workouts. She was spotted there and subsequently invited for a performance on stage and from there, her career took off.
In 2016, Kaffy led her dance group to break the Guinness World record for the longest dance party after they danced for 55 hours and 40 minutes. She is currently a dancer who has achieved critical acclaim in her chosen field. She is the official dance instructor for MTN Project Fame reality show.
She has also been in music videos for top Nigerian artistes like Seyi Shay, D’banj, Tiwa Savage, among others.
She is married to Joseph Ameh and has two children.
