The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, has tested positive to Coronavirus while the president tested negative.
Kyari, who was said to have returned from Germany on the 14th of March 2020, was alleged to have flaunted the self-isolation directive from NCDC after his return.
Recall that the National Center for disease control (NCDC), had taken to its official Twitter handle to announce that Nigeria recorded its first death from the coronavirus. They have also directed those who recently came in from abroad to self-isolate for 14 days, which is regarded as the incubation period for the novel Coronavirus.
The president’s chief of staff was said to have attended a meeting on Saturday in Aso rock where he began to cough repeatedly and thereafter surrendered himself for testing. He has now gone into self-isolation and treatment.
President Muhammadu Buhari was allegedly said to have tested negative to the virus. At least, we can be grateful that our president is safe from the virus after all.
