J.Michael’s short story, The Emperor’s Daughter, tells the story of a powerful African emperor, Emperor Hulu of Tohulu Kingdom. The emperor was on a quest to choose a husband for his only child, a daughter named Kevi.
Suitors had to meet three stringent artificial conditions if they want to be considered good enough for the princess. But guess what? The suitor, named Adamantus, who eventually won Kevi’s heart and hand in marriage did not meet any of those criteria.
He won her heart and eventually the emperor’s approval by showing that he possesses what matters most to make the princess happy even at the risk of losing his life.
The Emperor’s Daughter is a short story that reminds parents not to impose their own standard of what they think their children needs but rather should allow their children to follow their heart.
The story is also one of courage and steadfast love as demonstrated by Adamantus who was prepared to die for the love he has for the princess.
According to Yahoo, voting will close on 8th May 2020.
Do you want to listen to the Emperor’s Daughter on a free podcast, then head over to Yahoo website and vote for The Emperor’s Daughter. Your heart will be glad too for helping entertain children these uncertain times.
