And apparently, they know no boundaries and even governors are not immune to their effect.
If you doubt us ask the Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha who blames the printer for the mistake in the naming of the newly created “Ministry Of Happiness” to which he appointed his sister the commissioner.
The state’s chief secretary to the governor, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo revealed this via a statement according to Punch. Apparently, the correct nomenclature is the Ministry of Happiness and Purpose and not Ministry of Happiness and Couple Fulfilment.
The statement also clarified the justification for the new ministry, ostensibly to augment the efforts of other government ministries and efforts because let’s face it, “people are bitter, angry, with hate speeches, which led to crisis, war, and even terrorism.”
The statement threw also some light on the choice of Okorocha’s sister, Mrs. Ogechi Ololo, as the supervisory commissioner in charge of the ministry. She’s a “master’s degree holder in computer science from the USA” and has considerable experience in her brother’s administration.
Meanwhile, the chief press secretay hasn’t been the only one who has attempted to explaint what the ministry was set up to achieve. The lady named to man the position, Ogechi Ololo had earlier granted an interview to the BBC Africa to explain her job description, which says includes polices geared towards people’s people and thus make them happy.
