In the repetition, Unilag Olodo contends via his lawyers that he has received so much negativity following the accusation made against him on Twitter and that he is traumatised by the whole experience. He asked the police to commence an investigation of the matter since the 25 November. The petition made no mention of investigating what happened on the night of the alleged rape. Moreover, it seems that Unilag Olodo was more concerned with his public persona than unravelling the truth of what happened that night.
At the time of the allegation on Twitter (25 November), the blogger had condemned the allegations, claiming it to be false. He said, “rape is a very serious crime, and false accusation of rape is also a very serious crime. Other than treating this crime as Social Media drama, I’ll let Law Enforcement handle it.”
Tweeting about the petition, UnilagOlodo says:

Victory in court doesn’t necessarily mean one is innocent. Only the 2 party knows what happened that night and the wa y I see it, it’s a case of ‘I say, you say’. No winner here
