Gennaro Gattuso who was a part of the largely successful AC Milan squad has been announced to take the mantle of manger from the sacked Vicenzo Montella.
Montella has failed to impress enough with the club and has been relieved of his job with a statement from the club today stating: “We are very grateful to Mr Montella and his staff for all the work done up to today, their commitment and professionalism.”
Gattuso is a World Cup winner with the Italian national team and was very popular for his wild style of play and his unrelenting commitment to the teams overall output that earned him the title ‘Italian Jesus’.
The club had spent £205m and brought in new players this season to turn around their poor run in the Serie A since 2013 and though their form has been unconvincing as they sit at 8th, the introduction of a new manager who is also a club legend may serve as a wake up call to inspire the club to success.
