Eden Hazard might have just stirred the hornet’s nest with his comment on RTL (a Belgian TV Channel) that he would like to play for Zidane.
The 26 year old Belgian has been one of Real Madrid’s targets as he completes the duo (with David De Gea) that the Spanish giants have literally chased about for their signature for the past couple of seasons.
Like is typical of players while on international duty, Hazard who is with the squad of Belgium started a storm when he said during the interview:
“I do not know what will happen in my career in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zidane would be a dream.”
Though he also stated that he still likes it at Chelsea. Hazard has received many praises in recent times since after he left Lille to join Chelsea in 2012 that have seen him compared with the likes of Ronaldo and Messi.
When He was asked about Jose Mourinho, he commented that he would also of course like to work with the Portuguese again but he also liked facing him as an opponent and admitted that the period at Chelsea prior to the sacking of the manager had been turbulent.
Hazard was among the players accused of intentionally not playing well under Mourinho to get him sacked because they did not agree with his tactics.
With his comment on Zidane and by extension Madrid, it looks like the champions who defended their UEFA title successfully last term will be upping their plans to sign him to help alleviate their current jittery start of the season.
