Hosts of the AfroBasket 2017 tournament Tunisia have claimed the trophy after they slew D’Tigers in the final, 77-65.
The Nigerian team had looked forward to retaining the crown they won last time but it was not be so as Tunisia had other plans on hand and they ran D’Tigers to the ground.
Impressive Nigeria’s Ike Diogu however claimed the game-high with 20 points to his name but it was not enough as Tunisia’s Zied Chennoufi had a team-high of 19 points and his teammates were also very effective.
Diogu clinched the award of MVP for the tournament and along with him are four others for the All-Star Five Awards presented by Tissot:
Mohammed Hadidane (Tunisia), Mourad El Mabrouk (Tunisia), Ikenna Ireogbu (Nigeria, who had the highest number of assists per game 5.6) and Gorgui Dieng (Senegal).
