When a member of Quora community posed the above question to the online users, it was bound to generate some interesting debate. The general opinion tended to portray the actress as a positive influence with a right to private life just like any other person. Below is a round up of the opinions expressed by users.

“If you’re talking about how she refuses to sign an autograph or take selfies with fans, the answer is no.”
“In the March 2017 issue of Vanity Fair, she stated that she’s not going to take selfies for/with fans when she’s in public. She would still talk to you about anything you’d want to talk about (mostly Harry Potter). However, she doesn’t want people (on the social media) to know where and with whom she is. It’s a violation of her privacy (according to her).”
” She made exceptions for children, though. She had to know when to be a celebrity and when to make someone’s day. She would not refuse a kid’s request. Also, on the first day of school at Brown University, she broke down in tears when people asked for her autograph. She’s there to study and wished to be treated like a student, just like everyone else.”
“It’s easy for us to say she has it easy because she’s famous, rich, and good looking. It’s tough to keep yourself ready at all times for public exposure. I understand that once you make it as a celebrity, you got to be ready for all the paparazzis and endless interview attempts to know about your personal life. But hey, they have the rights to draw the line between personal and public life.”
Bottom line: “She’s not mean, she wants to live her life as normal as possible.”

“It’s an interesting position celebrities are in. Her policy on photos seems fair, fans aren’t entitled to a photo or autograph and she is entitled to tell them no. But having made her name by being a principle character in one of the most successful movie franchises she’s also not entitled to privacy when in public places. She has the option to use her wealth to secure privacy through arrangements with the establishments she visits, how she travels and even through disguises if she wishes. That comes with the territory of being a famous entertainer, athlete, politician, etc… It’s annoying to hear she “broke down in tears” on a college campus over being sought after for autographs.”

” Judging from the thousands of minutes I’ve seen Emma Watson interviews id say she’s a sweetie pie I would have a hard time believing she’s mean to anyone also everyone who attended brown college with her had nothing but wonderful things to say about miss Watson”
“Also she’s a UN goodwill ambassador and If you look at her speak about it she’s obviously very eager into defending her beliefs which is gender equality. She is She looks very innocent and she never seemed to be a mean girl.”

“I’ve never met her, but judging by her interviews, videos, etc. as well as what she does, (giving advice, supporting feminism) I would say she has a very sweet personality”
So we have our answer. Emma Watson is as sweet as Hermione Granger. Better actually seeing that while Granger was a character, Watson is very much the real thing. And we totally admire her tremendously.
